“Three rocks, a few burnt pines and an abandoned church
and above
the same landscape copied over again
three gate-shaped rocks, rusted
few burnt pines, black and yellow
and a small square house buried in the lime
and even more many times
the same landscape resumes incrementally
to the horizon to the reigning sky.”
(G. Seferis, “Botilia in the sea”)
The Landscape is a work in progress. In this work I seek to explore the coexistence of material space, earth and immaterial space, the sky, as well as the changes of the landscape due to natural elements and time.
Different geographical points, dissimilar characteristics and dimensions of each place that constitute and make the place – space real, comprehensible and at the same time intangible. My observation is imprinted on paper and marble. My choice of material has a corresponding symbolic meaning for each physical element.
Landscape marble is accompanied by a series of paintings.
