Bound Morphemes

Morphemes in linguistics are called the minimal units of meaning encountered during the
morphological analysis of a language.The reference point of this work is the sense of pain
and hopelessness of a limited state of existence.

In my attempt to explore my own fears and the exile of a place of my own, these wire
sculptures represent a courageous struggle that took place in 2016 when Syrian refugees
tried to cross the river in Idomeni, Greece. The river acted as a border and crossing it meant
more than overcoming the fear itself, it was freedom.
